Prof. David Cantor, PhD, is founding Director of the Refugee Law Initiative (RLI) at the School of Advanced Study, University of London. He has 25 years of experience working on refugees and on internal displacement.
Steven Miron
Joint Editor-in-Chief
Steven Miron is a researcher working and publishing on environmental mobility, focusing on climate-related loss and damage (L&D) and displacement. He advocates for community-based approaches to climate adaptation and the integration of human mobility into climate adaptation planning. Steve is a Research Fellow with the Refugee Law Initiative (RLI) at the University of London School of Advanced. Studies; a member of RLI’s Internal Displacement Research Programme’s Affiliate Network; a Module Tutor in the Refugee Protection and Forced Migration Studies MA programme, University of London School of Advanced Studies; and heads up Researching Internal Displacement’s publishing in the thematic area of environmental displacement and climate mobilities.
Annette Andrews

Annette Andrews holds an MA with Distinction in Forced Migration and Refugee Protection from the University of London and a Certificate in Public Policy Analysis from the London School of Economics. With experience across 35 countries, she specializes in communications with a focus on Indigenous rights and internal displacement. Current local government work includes crisis communication and inclusive engagement on issues such as displacement by natural disasters, bridging practical and academic insights in internal displacement research and solutions.
Sarah Deed

Sarah Deed is a humanitarian professional and researcher with experience leading protection programs in internal and cross-border contexts of forced displacement for Oxfam. She has managed strategic partnerships, multi-million-dollar donor portfolios, and high-value proposal processes, securing significant funding from private foundations, government, and multilateral institutions. She holds an MA in Refugee Protection and Forced Migration from the Refugee Law Initiative at the University of London's School of Advanced Studies. As a Commissioning Editor for Researching Internal Displacement, she seeks opportunities to platform practical examples that bridge the gaps between internal displacement policy and implementation.
Ahmad Ibrahim

Ahmad Ibrahim is a researcher and humanitarian practitioner working at the intersection of forced displacement, border criminologies and legal protection. He is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh and works with Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST), where he oversees legal assistance programs to Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, supports the development of strategic litigation and leads advocacy and research on expanding legal protection for refugees, stateless communities and displaced populations. He has an MA in Refugee Protection and Forced Migration Studies from the School of Advanced Study, University of London.
Ekaterina (Kate) Pesegova

Ekaterina (Kate) Pesegova has degrees in Economics (Institute of Modern Business, Moscow), Law (Russian Academy of Justice, Moscow), and Public Administration (Humber College, Toronto) and is currently a student of MA in Refugee Protection and Forced Migration Studies (University of London). She has worked in public and non-profit sectors. Kate’s research focuses on analysing temporary protection policies implemented in various countries for people who fled Ukraine.
