El desplazamiento forzado interno suele ser presentado como un fenómeno doméstico, determinado por factores y contextos esencialmente locales. Sin embargo, de acuerdo a los datos aportados por el Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre solo en 2019 cincuenta países distintos, localizados en regiones tan diversas como Asia Central, África Subsahariana y América Latina, enfrentaron desplazamientos significativos de población dentro de sus fronteras, vinculados al conflicto armado y la violencia generalizada. Surge, entonces, la pregunta de si un fenómeno tan extendido puede seguir siendo considerado local. ¿Es posible que junto a los elementos domésticos se encuentren lógicas y dinámicas globales que incidan en su producción? La Red Latinoamericana de Desplazamiento Interno (LANID) propone iniciar una reflexión sobre esta pregunta, a través de tres estudios de caso en la región y una reflexión sobre los datos mundiales de este fenómeno.

The messages have been endorsed by over 110 organisations and individuals, including civil society organisations, United Nations agencies, academics and experts. In addition to the messages, the groups have provided an advocacy reference document which unpacks in greater detail the entry points on human mobility for each relevant agenda item, providing context and longer messages.
